Joining the NMP staff in 2019, Mandy has been working with young children since her first job in high school as an Extended Day/Camp Counselor for 3 & 4-year olds at Ursuline Academy. She went on to study Early Childhood Education and Development at the University of Delaware, where she also worked as an undergraduate assistant for New Directions Early Head Start. After college she spent 6 years as Pre-K teacher at Our Lady of Fatima School until deciding to stay home with her son once he was born.
Mandy has now been a part of the NMP family as a parent and volunteer since her children started attending in 2015, and both her son and daughter have loved their time at Newark Methodist. She is very excited to now be returning to the classroom as a Lead PreK and Two's teacher! Her favorite part of teaching young children is watching just how much the students learn, grow and change in such a short time. Some of her other favorite things include music, being crafty, photography, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is married and has a daughter who is an alumna of Newark Methodist Preschool. She enjoys animals, especially cats. She likes spending time relaxing with her family, doing crafts and reading. Her commitment to the preschool goes beyond being a teacher. She chose Newark Methodist Preschool as a parent and educator, because it embodies her philosophy of education, that children learn best through hands on experiences in an environment where they can explore and learn through their play.
Suzy prides herself on giving her students a positive, safe and enjoyable early education. She provides children with an experience that will help them grow into successful, happy and confident individuals. Her loving nature, thoughtful planning and communication skills make her a wonderful teacher for our program.
Suzy Moyer - Prek & Extended Care Assistant Teacher
Suzy Moyer has taught at Newark Methodist Preschool since the fall of 2011, first as a substitute teacher and currently as an assistant teacher in the PreK program.
She decided to pursue her TECE 1 and TECE 2 (Training for Early Care and Education) when her children were in the last years of high school. Before this she was a stay-at-home mother and felt that she would like to continue helping children grow and learn.
She has three boys, Josh, Ian, and Eric that are her pride and joy. During the years she was raising them, she took part in their school activities and supported their school PTA. Suzy was also on the Board at her Swim Club. While raising her children she supported family and friends with childcare in times of need.
She chose to leave her previous teaching position and make the move to Newark Methodist Preschool for many reasons. Suzy says she feels accepted and has the utmost awe of the staff. Newark Methodist Preschool provides her the opportunity to be closely involved with the education and care of each student.
Diane Borher - Three's Lead Teacher
Diane comes to Newark Methodist Preschool with 15 years of teaching experience. She is a graduate of Penn State with an English degree and earned her masters degree in education from West Chester University. Allie Suminski - Threes Assistant Teacher
Allie began her educator journey subbing at Newark Methodist Preschool in 2021 while her son attended the 3’s program. Quickly she realized working in early education was exactly what she needed to do with her life. She was a stay at home mom for seven years prior to working at NMP to her son (5) and daughter (7). She eagerly accepted the position of working as an assistant in our Threes classroom.
She is currently a second year Girl Scout Leader to 11 girls grades kindergarten through second grade. She is passionate about hands on learning, and bringing as much of the real world, to the kids, to experience. Being outside and in nature, exploring art and science are some of her favorite things to do with kids. If there is one quote Allie lives by as a teacher it’s “Take chances, make mistakes and get messy.” -Miss Frizzle, The Magic School Bus.
Reading and providing books to children is a very important cause to Allie. She has her own Little Free Library outside her house and always has books in her van ready to restock a Library looking a bit bare. She has read thousands of different children's books. She enjoys gardening, renovating houses, thrifting, collecting oddities, sewing and tending to her small “zoo” of pets.
She attended The Kansas City Art Institute, Metro Community College-KC and DelTech studying fiber, ceramics and early education.
Mary Marzulli - Threes Lead Teacher
Mary Marzulli joined our staff in the fall of 2020 as a substitute teacher and quickly moved into her current role as our Three's Lead Teacher. Mary has over 32 years experience as an early childhood special education teacher working in both public and private schools. She is originally from New York and has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Early Childhood from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. In addition to working at Newark Methodist Preschool, Mary also provides early intervention for young children with special needs in the Delaware Birth to Three program.
When not teaching, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting the beach, gardening, & photography/scrapbooking. Mary and her husband have lived in Newark for 23 years along with their daughter who is 26 and their son who is 19. Mary is a huge animal lover and currently has 2 dogs and 4 cats.
Mary came to know Newark Methodist Preschool when her son attended the program starting at age 2 (he is now 19). She also occasionally substituted at that time. “When my son was at NMP I really loved how caring the teachers were and how they encouraged each child to develop at their own pace. I am so happy that I now have the opportunity to work here”.
Kerry Hogan - Threes Assistant Teacher
Kerry graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in special education (K-12) and then pursued certification in autism education. After 32 years of teaching in the Christina School District, Kerry retired in the fall of 2021. As a DAP teacher with many years of experience working with the Newark Methodist Preschool, Kerry felt a calling to join the preschool staff. This happy little preschool is where she wants to continue working with young children as they grow and learn. Kerry is currently an assistant in our Threes classroom.
Kerry has two “grown and flown” adult sons, who also attended the Newark Methodist Preschool many years ago. They had wonderful experiences here as their learning foundations were cemented.
In her spare time, Kerry enjoys dance-infused workouts like Zumba and Barre’ classes, gardening, hiking, and getting involved in the children’s ministry at the church she attends near her home.
